Scholarship winners!

Faith Blaney Faith Blaney (mezzo-soprano) is honored to have been selected as a scholarship recipient by the California Women’s Chorus! She is currently a sophomore vocal performance major at Biola University studying under Dr. San-Ky Kim. Beginning her studies at a young age through her church, Faith is an accomplished musician and performer. She has most recently enjoyed roles such as Praskovia (The Merry Widow) and Peggy (Godspell). Faith also sings in the acclaimed Biola Chorale, serving on council and as a section leader. Apart from performing, Faith enjoys choreographing, directing, and consuming art in any form. Faith gives all glory to God, from whom all blessings flow.

Aubrey Rhoades is a fourth year student at Riverside City College as a vocal music major. She is a member of the RCC Chamber Singers, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and Concert Choir; she also works as the Choral Program’s Assistant and Librarian and serves as a section leader. She has traveled extensively for her musical studies, including performances and lectures in South Korea, Bali, Hawaii, and other local universities and concert halls. She anticipates touring in Hungary with RCC Chamber Singers this coming summer. Aubrey has performed at the Hollywood Bowl under the direction of Maestro Gustavo Dudamel and with the San Bernardino Symphony and Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Anthony Parnther. Upon completion of her degree at RCC, she will transfer to California State University Fullerton in pursuit of a degree in vocal music. She is grateful to Professor John Byun, Dr. Alina Artemova, and Dr. Evelyn Lee for their continuous inspiration and support.

Rachel Rogstad recently completed her sophomore year at California Baptist University, getting a B.A. in Theatre with a Musical Theatre emphasis and a B.A. in Music, where she has performed in multiple opera and musical theatre works, including Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, First Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Beth in Little Women, and Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She is also very involved in the choral program at CBU, recently touring to Italy with CBU’s renowned chamber choir, Camerata. Awards and honors include winning the award for Outstanding Actress in 2024 for the Lucie Arnaz Awards and representing the Inland Empire at the Jimmy Awards (NHSMTA), being a two-time finalist in A Noise Within’s monologue competition, and being a semi-finalist at ACTF’s 2026 region 8 musical theatre initiative. You can next see her onstage in CBU’s Courtyard Shakespeare Festival as Rapunzel in Into the Woods this summer! She is so thankful to her family, friends, and professors for their endless support, and she is so grateful to CWC for this amazing opportunity!
